Appointments

circled_dayAll surgeries are by appointment and appointments are available each day and can be made at the desk or by telephone. You will be given an appointment to see the doctor of your choice if possible but in certain circumstances you may be offered an appointment with another doctor in the practice. Urgent cases will be seen on the same day and routine appointments at the first available time. Telephone consultations are also available as you may not always need an appointment to see your doctor.

If you arrive late for an appointment it may not be possible to fit you in and an alternative appointment may be offered.

If you cannot keep an appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that the cancellation may be offered to another patient.

Flexible appointments - the doctors recognise that some patients cannot attend during regular surgery times due to work comittments. Please let the receptionist know if you have this problem and arrangements could be made for you to be seen at a different time is possible.

Missed Appointments

Due to the number of patients failing to attend for their appointments this  may mean that you may not be able to see the doctor on the day that you wish to.  In an attempt to try and resolve this the practice has developed the following policy:

If you fail to attend appointments without informing us we will write to you asking if there are any specific problems preventing you from letting us know.  If you repeatedly fail to attend for appointments you may be removed from the practice list and have to find an alternative GP practice.

Change of address

If you change name, address or telephone number, please let our receptionists know by calling or writing to us. If you move outside the practice area you may need to find a doctor in your new area. There are instructions on what to do when you move to a new area on the back of your NHS medical card.

Carers

If you have responsibility for the care of another person please let us know so that our records are complete. This enables us to provide you with the best possible care.

Disabled access

Our new premises are fully accessible for people who need wheelchair access.  All the facilities within the practice are also designed for use by patients with disabilities.  If you require assistance to enter the building a member of staff would be more than happy to help.  A bell will be located outside the front entrance and a member of staff will respond.
